What is Habitat Place?

What is Habitat Place?  It is our store in Buffalo that sells antiques, collectibles, books, furniture, appliances and some building supplies.  These items are all donated to us by our community in Buffalo and Johnson County.

We also receive clothing and garage sale  items.  These are sorted by a group of sorters and boxed for our big Spring (Garage) Sale which is held every May sometime after Mother's Day at the Johnson County Fairgrounds.  We fill three buildings with these items!  The money we make helps us build houses in Johnson County.

You can help in two or three ways:

1) Donate to our store, items you no longer need or can use.  Please give good usable and clean items.
2) Shop at our store (310 Williams).  Hours are:

     Thursdays:  10:00 to 2:00
     Fridays:       10:00 to 2:00
     Saturdays:   10:00 to 2:00

3) Volunteer to help usSome people like to build on the house; others like to sort; others like to work at the store; and others serve on committees or help pick up items for the store.  We will help match a job to your skills and interests.
